ECKC Website Launched: On-Line Registration Opens Friday March 12th!
7 March 2010
The Eastern Canadian Karting Championship gets infused with some lifeblood today as it celebrates the launch of www.eckc.ca, the Official Series web site of Canada’s premiere karting championship. Designed by Quebec-based partner ADN Communication, the site will be a pivotal hub for karters and teams in contesting the inaugural season.
“The launch of eckc.ca is something that we have been working really hard at since we announced the series, and going live with it brings us one step closer to the real deal!” said the host for Le Monaco finale Dominic Labrecque. “The product is still in its early phases, and will definitely require some refining along the way, but it will be an interactive arena to stay in touch with the championship beginning today! ” Immediately apparent in the masthead of the site is the new series logo designed by partner and Official Series Photographer On Track Promotions. It identifies the championship as an Official Rotax Max Challenge qualifying series, and leads into images of a number of drivers from Eastern Canada who have represented the country at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. A toolbar sits below with at least one section that is of prime importance to karters beginning this week. As of this Friday, March 12, at 12pm sharp, online registration for the championship begins. Competition numbers will be assigned on a first come, first-served basis, and will then be confirmed and appointed for the entire 2010 ECKC season.
“Online registration is something that really shows us being progressive,” said round one host Daniel Di Leo. “One aspect of the sport where we definitely identified room for improvement is the old-school registration process. Everyone knows the frustration spent standing in line on race morning, and it is something that we can all do without. In creating a dependable platform for online registration, we have the first of many ways our series will go above and beyond to create the ultimate karting experience. The system will be convenient for all participants, and especially so for those competing from other provinces and countries.”
What drivers will also note upon logging in to register, is the upgrade of three regional support classes to championship status. When each host venue selected Honda Junior, Senior, and Masters as its supporting trio, organizers logically decided to track the points of competitors in order to award season-ending titles and prizes. The three join Rotax Micro-Max, Mini-Max, Junior, Senior, DD2 and Masters DD2 in the ECKC lineup for season one.

Other site highlights for those planning to compete are easy access to Medical and Technical forms, Rules and Regulations for both RMC and Honda classes, and contacts for information available in both French and English. Race Results and Championship Standing will be updated after each round, and otp.ca will be providing brilliant galleries beginning with the opening round at Goodwood Kartways.
